One of the things I liked in the previews and lead-ups to 4e was the idea that 9 spell levels being the cap would be a thing of the past (or cleric 7 for you old-timers), instead the spell level you could cast was the same as the level caster you were.
Now, the way it turned out, spells were a power and everyone had a power aside, I actually kind of like the concept.
The question is, is something like that feasible in a non-4e game? For D&DN, would it be possible to have spell levels like that for casters, without requiring the introduction of powers for other classes.
My thinking is yes.
