Well how about the 'Calcification' ability of the Gravecrawler from MM2. The ability slowly drains the subjects Con. When the con is 0 then the subject is turned to stone.
He is in fact a dead statue. Even if a stone to flesh spel is cast the person is still dead.
What would you have the scrying person see?? Would the scry spell just not work??
