Hi all!
I wanted to let all of you know about an important decision the
partners at Silven have taken.
As of December 2007 we will no longer be in business. Silven
Publishing has had something of a tough year this year, and although
things are now coming around to normal, the partners have decided that
a considerable personal investment will be needed to keep the company
profitable. We have decided therefore to shut down operations instead
because we no longer believe that we can do the products we publish
the necessary justice in marketing and publishing investment.
Only one more book that is currently ready will be published in
september and then we will stop entirely, winding down successively
till December.
For our partners this means:
That our current agreements on co-publishing, etc will come to an end.
Any current projects under development revert entirely to the partners
ownership as far as intellenctual property rights are concerned.
For our freelancers:
All current contributions for BOTH published AND un-published work
will be paid in full by December 2007. No one will be left hanging.
For our writers:
This will be a large blow to you all that have spent a long time from
both of our ends regarding editing of works in progress. But both I
and my partners believe that we will not do your works justice by
continuing them under this label. As such, I suggest the following:
a) When you find another publisher, have them contact us for
information on current editing status of your works so unnecessary
expenditure can be spared on re-editing
b) If you need references or recommendations to any publishers don't
hesitate to ask me.
In general, its been quite a ride the last 4 years and we would like
to thank everyone for their teamwork, co-corporation and support since
we got going on this.
