Simulacrum?

What happens if the caster dies? The duplicate is under the absolute control of the caster and cannot advance in ability. Does it even matter if the caster dies? Does it become free-willed?

I would assume that the duplicate would become inert due to lack of control since nothing in the spell seems to indicate that it can act under its own volition.

The duplicate has intelligence, wisdom, and charisma equal to its original. If it could not act under its own volition (like, say, a golem) it would lack one or more of these stats.

However, the simulacrum would still be compelled to follow any orders that the mage had given it before death.
