I got a question about skill points and learning skills.
If you have a char for example Thief one Wizard 2 wich
learns forgery and open locks on Thief level one
on 4.
What will it cost him to learn that to 5 and 6 when he
takes Wizard levels?
If remember right a Level 3 has max Skill rang of 6.
So he could learn it from 4 to 6.
Would it cost one SP or two SP since open locks and
forgery are not on the Wizard Skill list.
Or does the the Thief Skill list count for the costs since
he has a level here?

I'm assuming you use the 3.5 rules set. (3.0 rules are different):

Max ranks is your lvl+3 if the skill is a class skill for ANY of your classes.

So yes, you can have Open locks at 6 at Rogue1/Wiz2.

Skill ranks cost 1 skillpoint for class skills, 2 skillpoints for cross class skills.
So getting Open locks to 4 at lvl 1 with Rogue skillpoints costs 4 skillpoints.
Getting it to 5 at lvl 2 with Wiz costs an additional 2 skillpoints.
getting it to 6 at lvl 3 with Wiz costs an additional 2 skillpoints.

Should you take a lvl rogue at lvl 4, getting it to 7 at lvl 4 with Rogue would cost an additional 1 skillpoint.

Note that there are certain class abilities and/or feats (don't have my books with me, so can't give you particulars) that may interfere with this.

The maximum you can go to depends on whether the skill in question for any of you classes, but the cost to raise skills depends on the specific class for the level you are taking at the time.

IOW, Herzog has it right, although I am not sure what he meant about 3.0 being different. 3.0 has some extra wrinkles WRT class-exclusive skills which don't exist in 3.5, but apart from that the rules are identical.
