Skull Mountain is a volcano which serves as the lair of a red dragon. Once the hiding place of a long-forgotten fire cult, steps are carved into the inside of the volcano, spiralling down into its depths.
The red dragon sleeps for many years at a time, and does not often prove to be a threat to Hengistbury Village or Thornbury. There are the usual rumors of treasure hoarded by the dragon, sometimes spoken of by the itinerant bard [wiki[Three-Fingered Jake[/wiki], but nobody living today has seen this treasure.
