Sneak Attack and Uncanny Dodge

Whimsical

Explorer
From d20srd.org:
The rogue’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the rogue flanks her target.
Starting at 4th level, a rogue can react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker.
So, my question is: does uncanny dodge negate sneak attacks when are in a situation that denies your dex bonus? It seems like it would. I want to be sure.

If your target has Uncanny Dodge, it makes it difficult but not impossible to sneak attack. Some otherwise excellent methods of gaining a sneak attack (such as your target being flat footed) won't work, but other methods (such as your target is grappled) still will work.

Oddly, the description for Improved Uncanny Dodge implies that it is "flanking" that is the requirement for sneak attack, not "denied Dex bonus", and thus (non-Improved) Uncanny Dodge does not protect from sneak attacks: "This defense denies another rogue the ability to sneak attack the character by flanking her".

However, someone with 4+ more levels in rogue than you have in the class(es) that granted you Uncanny Dodge can still sneak attack you.

The requirement for sneak attack is flanking or denied Dex bonus. Either one works. Uncanny Dodge protects you from the most common ways of losing your Dex bonus, and Improved Uncanny Dodge protects you from flanking.
