D&D 5E Song of Rest stacking question

the Jester

Legend
So song of rest (2nd level bard feature) seems pretty self-explanatory.

And then two bards in the party hit 2nd together and asked me if they can both use it during short rests, so each pc who heals regains extra hps from both of them. I didn't see anything that says no in the rules, but thought I'd pose it to all of you.

I don't have a PHB in front of me, but I seem to recall Song of Rest being a magical effect (bards pull magic from the weave through song). In chapter 11(?) it says that magical effects don't stack.

Let it happen. It's such a minor thing, lets their characters both function, and it only makes the adventuring day last longer, which is a good thing!

Unless you want to angle for one of them to not play a bard, for other reasons.

I'd let it happen. It's not too overpowered and has a drawback in that it requires singing (sort of attracts attention in a dungeon). I can see certain parties bringing orchestras with them, though. :>
