You can always use wands for spells that are on your spell list. You have a risk of failure, but you can also attempt scrolls.

Assuming that you are going Wizard or Sorcerer, that is a lot of spell effects you already have access to. For many people, it isn't necessary to have access to both the Arcane and Divine spell lists.
