Spell that makes weapon damage nonlethal?

Gnome

First Post
Are there any spells anywhere that can be cast on a weapon or maybe a creature to convert all damage inflicted by the weapon or creature to nonlethal damage for the duration of the spell?

An artificer could use lesser weapon augmentation (or personal weapon augmentation on his own weapon) to temporarily imbue it with the Merciful special weapon ability, which gives it an additional 1d6 damage and makes all damage inflicted non-lethal. However, these are infusions rather than spells, so only an artificer can cast them, and they cannot be made into potions or oils.

There is a first-level enchantment spell in the _Book of Exalted Deeds_ that forces the target (who fails a Will Save) to only inflict subdual damage on the party. (And since most weapons do not inflict subdual damage naturally, that means the bad guy would have to take a -4 to hit as well.) The spell is called "Yoke of Mercy."
