Hi! Quick question:
Some feats (particularly Item Creation feats) have a minimum spellcaster level as a prerequisite to take the feat, such as "Spellcaster level 12th+" for the Craft Staff feat. Does this mean that the character must attain 12 levels in one spellcasting class to qualify, or can she attain a total of 12 levels across multiple spellcaster classes?
For example, would a Wiz7/Clr5/Ftr2 be able to take Craft Staff as a feat, since she has 12 spellcasting levels? If so, could a prestige class with its own spell list (say, Assassin or Blackguard in the DMG) be used to meet the qualifications?
Also, if this is addressed one way or the other in the PHB, DMG or other source, can you point me to it?
Thanks very much for any input...
