Fistan, Wizard 4

"No one else did?" asked Fistan looking somewhat worried. "I suppose this whole err... rebellion is going to cause much death. I hope it is nothing more specific than that."

Zephyros offers them space on the ground floor, which leaves him somewhat disappointed. He plucks up the courage to ask, "Might I - we - uh... explore your castle further?" He looks at the holes in the ceilings wistfully, barely acknowledging his inability to reach it in his excitement.

He spends most of the next three days, studying (if only his own spell book), practicing his magic and scribbling notes of his meeting with Zephyros.

Neurotic

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
Three days of pacing around available space all the way murmuring about destiny, endless waiting, Nightstone risks etc...the party was probably thankful for periods when the warrior sat down to check on his armor. And maybe to Fistans surprise, to discuss spells and their use.

Tranio is curious about the nature of cloud-stuff, and begins experiments, jumping up and down, trying to dig through, seeing if it can make a snowball, etc. His interest, however, does not last long, and he soon finds himself trying to find out about how giants experience death. If he can get a conversation going about t, he will. If he can find stories in a library (murder mysteries, etc.) he'll do that, assuming he's strong enough to turn the pages and he can understand the language.

The giant is willing to show any interested parties the rest of his tower.

Travel: The tower contains no stairs and magic or rope would be required to travel between floors from within. A brave enough warrior would find the stone outside of the tower climbable.

Second Floor: This level of the tower has an 80-foot-high ceiling and tall, slender windows set with panes of stained glass. Furnishings include a giant-sized bed and an enormous wooden chest. Stone shelves protrude from the walls at heights of 20, 40, and 60 feet, and these shelves bear the weight of Zephyros’s vast collection of journals. Floating ten feet off the ground is a reflective orb that the giant uses to navigate through the skies. Next to it is the floating cube that contains the agitated hill giant.

Zephyros’s spellbook: The spellbook weighs 250 pounds and has gilded silver covers. There seems to be good number of spells contained inside. The trick is figuring out a way to turn the heavy pages or persuading the giant to do it for you.

OOC: I can provide the full list of his spells to anyone interested. We can retcon that the three days were spent studying or copying some.

Library: Zephyros’ library contains over 500 journals written by the wizard. For the past 50 years has been drifting around the Moonshae Isles and cataloging its many wonders, both magical and mundane. Each book weighs 100 pounds, consolidates a month’s worth of research.

Aerie: The highest level of the tower has open archways set into its walls. Four Griffons have made nests in the aerie, and Zephyros treats them like cats. They are wild and a danger to smaller folk though. At any given time at least one is present and they will attack if their nests are disturbed.

Tranio: Your question catches the eccentric wizard off guard, but he explains that giants experience death just as smallfolk do. The only major difference is in lifespan length.

Unexpected Visitors: On the third morning, while Zephyros is in a magical coma, you notice potential trouble in the distance. Nine dots on the horizon head towards the tower. They fly in a v formation, but are far too big to be your standard flock of birds.

"Finally something to do here!" Carolina exclaims, obviously suffering from some sort of cabin fever. She clicks a bolt into her crossbow and joins Ordrar.

Tranio looks around for some kind of cover -- a rake left out in the cloudstuff overnight, perhaps -- that can shield him but still give him nightlines to fire if anything gets too close. He's not going to miss this, whatever it is.
