Brutal Strike is on the list simply because it can be scary effective. On Power Attacked hits, must make a "Fort save at DC 10 + your extra damage from the Power attack feat" or be Dazed.

Brutal strike does not daze your target as indicated by the feat summary table, it sickens them (see feat text). Text trumps table.

Feat wise I'd suggest -
power attack (PHB) - this is where your damage comes from,
cleave (PHB) - pre-req feat but can also mean an extra attack
improved bullrush (PHB) - pre-req feat
shock trooper (CW) - power attack now reduces your AC rather than your chance to hit
(mix in 2 levels of fighter to nab weapon focus: greatclub and 3 mountains (CW))

Your damage output will be impressive without moving too far from core. Add Lion totem barbarian from Complete Champion (swap out your extra 10' speed for pounce). Add whirling frenzy variant from unearthed arcana for an extra attack and you have 3 attacks on the charge. 3 moutains is a great addition as if you hit your opponent twice in a round they must save or be nauseated (move actions only).

Whirling rage variant lion totem barbarian with Greatsword
Attack sequence on charge is (+8 BAB + 6 rage str +2 Magic wpn +2 charge -2 whirl rage) Damage is 2d6+9str+16powerattack+2magic
So: +16/+16/+11 (2d6+27) or around about 60-70 points in a round (max 117). With 3 mountain if you hit them twice they need to make a save DC 20 or be nauseated.

Look to nab Leap attack from complete adventurer for a significant power boost.

I wouldn't use the Berserker variant unless I really trusted my healer. At 8th level you'll have rage 3/day. Will you really need it more often than that? Even as the big bruiser, you'll be surprised at how many combats you may take superficial or even no damage.

Control your rage, don't let it control you.

Are the stats before or after your 4th and 8th level bonuses?
19str, 18dex, 13con, 11int/wis/cha is optimal.

Recommended Feats
Human1: Power Attack
Level1: Cleave
Level3: Improved Sunder
Level6: Combat Brute (Complete Warrior)

Power Attack and Cleave are just obvious choices. Improved Sunder both for reasons stated above and as a pre-requisite for Combat Brute.

Combat Brute allows you to make 3 combat maneuvers:
Advancing Blows: Successfully Bull Rush a Foe. Get +1/5ft moved on your attacks next round.
Sundering Cleave: Sunder a foe's weapon, get a cleave attack against the foe
Momentum Swing: Charge a foe in the first round, second round Power Attack for 5 or more and triple (instead of double) your power attack.

Advancing Blows isn't great, but the other two options are GOLD.

Equipment:
Adamantine Great Sword/Great Axe +1
Mithral Breastplate +1
Gloves of Ogre Power +2
Belt of Constitution +2
Ring of Protection +1
Cloak of Resistance +2

Don't worry too much about overcoming DR. You'll do that better by Power Attacking with a 2hder than by using Cold Iron/Silver weapons. Might want a dagger for when you're grappled, but really, you should be difficult to grapple. Thrown weapons are great for range, and Quiver of Ehlonna is great for holding them. Probably better to have Fly available though. Getting Barkskin, Bulls Strength, Cats Grace, and Enlarge Person either cast or in potions can be a big plus. If Owl's Wisdom is available, take it to shore up your will save too.
