Summoning Feats?

Kodam

First Post
Hi!

I'm going to play a Fire Priest who specializes in Summoning stuff. I've already taken Augmented Summoning and converted the Beckon the Frozen-Feat (from Frostburn) to Fire ("Beckon the Burning"). Are there any other summoning-related Feats out there? Any Help would be gladly appreciated!

Hi!

What about:
Celestial Summoning Specialist: PLH 38
Fiendish Summoning Specialist: PLH 39
Stalwart Planar Ally: PLH 42
Spontaneous Summoner: CD 85

PLH = Planar Handbook
CD = Complete Divine

Kind regards

I do not have my books available currently, so I cannot be precise. The Eberron book has several summon specific feats, very nice ones.

Come a little closer....
closer....
a bit more....
now you see.... :)

All of the feats are General:

Spontaneous Summoner lets you spontaneously cast summon nature's ally (1/day/Wis bonus), if you are able to cast any of the summon nature's ally spells and if you are partially neutral in alignment and have at least a Wisdom score of 13 and 4 ranks in Kn (nature).

Celestial Summoning Specialist allows you to broaden your summoning lists (DM approval needed) to include good-aligned creatures for summon monster spells. You now don't have to trade monsters on your list on a one-on-one basis. You have to have a nonevil alignment, 2 ranks in Kn (the planes) and in Kn (religion), and you must be able to cast any summon monster spell.

Fiendish Summoning Specialist allows you to.... but with evil creatures.

Stalwart Palanr Ally lets you gain a tougher creature (+4 AC bonus/Saves) that lasts for the double amount of time summoned, if you have Charisma at least of 13, 5 ranks in Spellcraft, and the Planar Touchstone feat. You need to link yourself to a specific plane of existence to summon the tougher creatures from.

Kind regards and enjoy the CD/PLH.

Careful around the "Eberron" summoning feats - they are rather closely tied to the setting's specific druidic sects (and WotC means sects = extreme views of how the world is meant to be and work ) in a power vs. "playability of sect" balance .... e.g. the more powerful the feat , the less compatible to other characters the caster who belongs to the sect becomes.

"Ashbound" (longer duration (x2), stronger creatures from Summon Nature's Ally ) = druidic sect which believes in the general corrupting influence of civilisation in general, and psionics, arcane magic and divine (clerical) magic in particular, and tends to "direct action" measures to chase people away from the pristine wilderness

"Child of Winter" (Summon vermin instead and in addition to normal summon nature's ally list ) = druids believing and furthering the spread of decay, death, blight cold and entropy, devoted to cleansing Khorvaire (the main continent) from all humanoid life, so "nature" can start anew....

Both feat also require the caster to be capable of casting Summon nature's ally spontaneously (the only way I see a cleric being capable of that is via the animal domain in combination with domain spontanity : animal domain, and the effects of the feats only apply to summon nature's ally anyway.)
