D&D 5E Survivor Campaign Settings- Birthright Wins?

All hail Birthright!

Been playing in this setting for 20 years (real time), 100 years (campaign time), and 5 generations of Heroes!

Someone mentioned that Birthright inspired a Song of Ice and Fire, I thought I was the only one who believed so. I remember thinking "wait, the Iron Throne, I read that somewhere else"... Then I had a look at my Birthright books, and I saw the name of the author... "Ed Stark"...

"There can be only one" is probably the most fitting quote for Birthright. :p

Birthright is probably the setting which influenced me more in building and evolving my 20+ years ongoing homebrew world. Along with Planescape is probably the most influential setting, so i was both amazed (because imho it was clearly an underdog) and glad that make it to the top.

Regarding the survivor threads, it seems to me that the choices that last long are not the most popular or commercial ones, not even the choices with the most hardcore fans. The winners are probably the least despised choices, these that are not known very well but have a general good vibe.
