Sword of Dancing

What is the opinion on the Sword of Dancing in whether you simply need to hold it for a standard action or it must be used in a standard attack? I didn't see anything in the errata or FAQ concerning it. I feel that, based on the way it worked in 1st and 2nd edition, you must make a standard attack (although a full attack would work too). Its a sword, so to me this make sense.

It's a standard action to activate the sword. So it replaces the attack you could make that round.
