Errol looses a bolt that sail through the air, then diapers suddenly in a spray of blood. The rest of the group don't fair so lucky as they watch their attacks hit nothing but sand and rocks. Even J.V.s unknowable master's power doesn't seem to have caused much disruption.

You can hear, but not see, the duergar getting closer - clearly aiming to attack from the north.

Errol smiled with grim satisfaction as he heard his bolt strike armor and duergar. They weren’t being quiet, so he could still vaguely follow their location, and he tried to follow the trail of blood from the ones he had injured as he loaded another bolt in his crossbow.

“Be aware!” he yelled to his companions. “They are almost upon us!” He turned to aim where the thought he saw a brief shimmer in the air and fired once more. This time the bolt flew wide, however.

Reszor was commissioned by a soldier turned assassin to enhance his ability to kill without being detected. It has a star motif etched into the blade and the handle is of blue leather. Dried blood clings to the blade and cannot be cleaned off. The weapon counts as magical and when you make an attack against on opponent while hidden the attack will make no noise. Additionally, when you make an attack with this weapon and get to use bonus damage dice, such as superiority dice or sneak attack dice, roll an additional die and discard the lowest. When you say the command word "Reszor" the blade will glow with dim light out to a 5ft radius, saying the command word again will turn the light off. Finally there is a mild curse on the blade that drives the wielder to kill. After rendering an opponent incapacitated or unconscious make a DC7 WIS saving throw to stop yourself from killing the creature.

Under his breath, Ilvellios uttered some language that would not be approved of in the monastery, as he realised that the invisible foes had moved out of range of his attacks and none of them had been drawn off from the main group to engage him.

Moving swiftly as a dart, he ran forward towards his allies, hoping to back them up as soon as possible.

So they're smart enough to avoid attacking from the west and being flanked! :p

Errol shoots off another bolt, but his aim is not so lucky this time. Nariah fares better, her eldritch spear stopping abruptly with a scream and the smell of singed flesh, her target slows and the telltale puffs of dust she had been tracking suddenly disappear. Illvilious, realising that his ruse had failed makes a mad dash back towards the group, while the remainder all take a defensive posture, readying for the incoming charge.

Suddenly four Duargar appear right beside the group, their squat forms getting larger and larger right before your eyes, until they tower over you. Only Duran seems to match their bulk.

GM: I've tidied up the map and added a key that now matches the posts, I didn't realise how confusingly I'd mixed things up.

Just as a note, if I'm RCing a character, I will usually do the minimum and not use expendable resources - except in the most obvious of cases (like being the last character standing and healing someone). If you want Nariah to do anything other than EB spam, you'll have to say - I don't find playing against myself all that fun. Or I cheat and favour the side I am mroe committed to :p

Wanting to get into the thick of the fighting, Ilvellios quickly moved over to the main group of duergar, right next to where he thought the hiding dwarf was, and also providing Nariah with a flanking position.

He swung his staff at the second dwarf, and then followed up with a spinning high kick at his foes kidneys..
