Duran takes a defensive stance, only to see Illvilious beat one of the orcs into a bloody mess on the floor. Thateous sends an arrow that finishes off the other. Eroll shoots a bolt at the fleeing goblins, taking out the wolf rider. Nariah looses a blast of eldritch energy that kills the other.

The last remaining wolf takes a few more bounds before realising it is no longer has a rider. It stops and returns to its master, sniffing at the dead goblin.

GM: The wolf is still alive, but I'm pretty sure you can kill it with ranged weapons before it gets near you.


A quick search of the area shows two crude tents stocked with a few days rations and bedding. All told you find 6GP on all the guards as well as their weapons and armour. A clear, well used trail leads north from the camp, paralleling the path you were following before the attack.

Ilvellios leans on his staff and nods, "What was that all about? We just happen to run across bandits while retreating from the cultists? Or is there a link between them?"

Reszor was commissioned by a soldier turned assassin to enhance his ability to kill without being detected. It has a star motif etched into the blade and the handle is of blue leather. Dried blood clings to the blade and cannot be cleaned off. The weapon counts as magical and when you make an attack against on opponent while hidden the attack will make no noise. Additionally, when you make an attack with this weapon and get to use bonus damage dice, such as superiority dice or sneak attack dice, roll an additional die and discard the lowest. When you say the command word "Reszor" the blade will glow with dim light out to a 5ft radius, saying the command word again will turn the light off. Finally there is a mild curse on the blade that drives the wielder to kill. After rendering an opponent incapacitated or unconscious make a DC7 WIS saving throw to stop yourself from killing the creature.

Desairn Valley, Day 9, Morning

You follow the trail north, it's not long before you notice a light smear of smoke ahead. This leads you to a wide shallow depression in the ground that hides a large camp.

The circular camp is surrounded by a crude fence made of stakes and thorn bushes with an opening facing you and one opposite. A huge tent dominates the middle, surrounded by dozens of smaller tents. There are some wagons and mules corralled in the northeast quadrant, and some crude wooden cages in the south west.

Its large enough to hold around 40 orcs, but seems strangely quiet. You can see two wolves tethered and a goblin loitering near each entrance. Two orcs are warming themselves in the morning sun near the cages and you can see three more squatting around a fire outside on of the larger tents near the huge tent. There are also two humans sitting with the orcs. They are heavily armed in the strange brown armour.

The camp is around 100' across and you are on the edge of the depression about 50' away from the fence.
