“Our apologies, mates,” Errol told the annoyed brigand, reaching down and scratching the bear between the ears. “He’s tame, I assure you. Won’t let him near your beds, lads,” Errol promised. “He’ll stay right by the door.”

Errol looked down at Duran the bear and nodded. “What you playin’? Dragon dice?”

Duran rolls over onto his back legs in the air tongue hanging out, much like a,dog that wants its belly scratched.

Riverguard Keep, Early Evening, Day 5

The speaker looks sceptical but his initial anger seems to have abated. "Well 'e can't be any worse than bugbears. Yeah, Dragon dice, but t' pots been going a whiles and we ain't having no one coming in last minute an' stealin' it." As Duran rolls over playfully he knocks a bunk which sends a shield and some other personal effects crashing to the ground. A chorus of groans erupts from the gamers, "Get 'at thing outa here afore it breaks anything."

[/GM]As the north door in the room leads back into the donjon where you just came I'll assume you are going out the south door that leads outside. If you really want to go out the north door, let me know, it leads to the corridor where JV encountered one of the guards in this room. He doesn't seem to recognise you though.[/GM]

Heading out the south door you see a door, at the other end of and 80 ft battlement, leading into another tower (K2). Immediately to your left is a stairway leading down to the muster yard. You can hear voices and see light from a fire in the corner of the yard buildings (near the north double doors of K5).

As you head down the stairs and around the donjon you hear more voices and another fire around the corner to you front (the east wall outside of K8). As you round the corner of the donjon you see the bright light spilling from the slightly open door. In the fading light you could probably walk past without attracting attention as it will be hard for anyone inside to see out. The door leading to your destination is closed, though there is some light spilling through under the door.

GM: I'm assuming you are stopping along the path that runs between the K6, K7, K8 building and K16.

“Good boy,” Errol grinned down at Duran, scratching the bear’s belly. “Show the men how nice you are.”

Patting Duran some more, Errol told the guards, “No worries, mate. Not wishing to steal your wages. We’ll be on our way.”

Looking to the others, Errol nodded to the door and they headed outside. It was getting darker, and they skirted around the muster yard toward the tower, though there was an open doorway to pass. Errol moved quickly and stuck to the shadows as much as he could before going up to the closed door and trying to listen to what was inside.

Listening at the door (to K15) you hear voices, there is a woman's and possibly two men's voices. The door is made of solid wood reinforced with iron bands and opens inwards. You can see a simple latch that would be used for normal daily use, to stop the door blowing open in the wind. If there is a lock or bar, it would be on the inside.

Ilvellios took a deep breath of fresh air as they stepped outside, observing the tension of his body under the stress of their situation. Though it seemed to be going remarkably smoothly, the longer they tarried here the more likely the chance of discovery.

Moving silently up to the door, he looked around at the others, ready to open it when they signaled their readiness.

Just checking in case anyone wants to do something else? We are getting to know the layout of the place, but I don't think most of the guards will know where the delegates are likely to be!

Errol looked at the others and held up three fingers. Then he indicated himself and made a circling gesture before he slipped around a corner, going to one of the windows to see if he could look inside.
