The Terrapin Gaming Club of the University of Maryland would like to announce TerpCon VIII, our biannual all day gaming event. We're on for April 12th, 2008 in the Benjamin Bannaker and Juan Ramon Jiminez Rooms of the Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Current Status:
Player registrations accepted
Player game signup not available
Game registration accepted

We're setup at Warhorn again this year:
http://www.warhorn.net/TerpConSpring2008/

If you'd like to register a game, please register on the Warhorn site (even if you registered for a previous TerpCon, the sites are independent) so we know how many people to expect and email terpcon@gmail.com with:
1) The name of your game
2) The system of your game (D&D 3.5, Shadowrun, Paranoia, etc.)
3) The writer of your mod (even if it's your own creation)
4) The number of players you want (it may be a range, e.g. 4-8)
5) Whether or not you will be using pregens
6) If you aren't, what guidelines you want players to follow when creating characters as well as a way to get in contact with you for questions and/or approval.
7) A general synopsis of your mod (try to keep it short and sweet; this is the blurb perspective players will be able to see via the website)
8) The slot(s) in which you want to run your game (choices are morning, afternoon, and night (exact times to be posted in a bit))
9) Any materials the players will need to bring
10) Your WarHorn name. We cannot link the game to you without this. Please help us out by including this.
11) Anything that I have forgotten to mention but you feel will be necessary for us to know.

If you have any questions please email terpcon@gmail.com.

As the individual currently in charge of most of TerpCon's preceedings it has come to my attention that some EN Worlders have voiced complaints about TerpCon in the past. If you have a specific concern please email me directly at terpcon@gmail.com.

While TerpCon is intended primarily as an event for the members of the TGC we highly encourage all others to attend. We greatly enjoy the interaction with other 'local' gamers and oppurtunity to play with individuals we generally do not have the oppurtunity to interact with. If a GM is refusing to admit you to a game, please inform a member of the staff of this incident.

I also realize that there are concerns about among EN Worlders about the number of EN Worlders attending. If you are an EN Worlder interested in attending, please put "ENWorld" in the comment section when you sign up on Warhorn so that I can keep . Sign up is free and there is no penalty for not attending.

I look forward to seeing many of you at TerpCon VIII (Spring 2008). I'm hoping that together we can beat TerpCon's previous record attendance (about 100 people!).

Thanks for the heads-up. We just had our spring gameday last weekend, and there's another big one in April, but there may be some of us that can squeeze in another weekend's worth of gaming.

Interesting. I heard about this on Supplanter's LiveJournal this morning as well. Synchronicity in action. :)

May have to check this out.
