I had a fit of inspiration last night and came up with a prophecy that could be used in a wicked campaign. I got the idea after looking at the various post apocalypse and undead threads. Bear in mind that I had D20 Modern in mind when I wrote this down but it is easily adaptable to any time period. let me know what you think and also tell me what you think the clues refer to. they may be a bit obscure though...
The Prophecy
Death shall rise from slumber
and lay claim to the living.
And there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
And Lo, the nations and principalities shall meet Death
on the field but will be as a man against the tide,
and shall be dashed upon the rocks.
But Despair not! For the spark of life shall yet burn,
And Heroes shall emerge from the ashes.
And they shall go before Death awakened, seeking the Godkiller.
And the Godkiller shall be found with the Scourge of His people,
And the Tyrant and his Lady shall command them both.
The Heroes of Light and Life shall battle the Scourge
And they shall sever it's Head and Pierce it's Heart.
And the the Godkiller shall fall at their feet.
The Godkiller shall then be raised up and borne upon swift feet
to the Place of Death's awakening.
And Behold! Seated upon a throne of skulls and entrails
shall be Corruption in the Flesh.
And the Heroes of Light and Life shall again do battle.
With the Godkiller at their right hand,
The least of them shall pierce his eye and thus stay his hand.
Death shall once again Slumber.
The real beuty of this is that it can be used for any length of campaign. you can use the whole thing at once for a one shot adventure. or you can break it down by verse or even by line and make an adventure from each.
