to full-attack, or not to full-attack.

basically, i'm thinking of the following build, and my DM is saying it's not going to work:

full attack (using deep impact) + power attack (to the max!) and then full-attack some bozo for a ton of damage with two touch attacks.

he said it only applies to the first, because the wording says "attack" and doesn't also include "full attacks"

who's right?

DM is right. You spend your focus, and your resolve your attack as a touch attack. 1 focus = 1 Deep Impact. Even if you could spend more the one focus, you can only use them on different things for expended foci.

The people who designed Deep Impact are ahead of you, thus the reason you can't full attack with Deep Impact.
Same thing goes for Psionic Weapon, Psionic Shot, Fell Shot, etc, etc.

But you can make the Deep Impact be used for the last of your attacks, so your lowest to-hit has better odds.

If you want to make all the attacks in a full-attack action as touch attacks, you must use Wraithstrike spell (Complete Adventurer/Spell Compendium) and such.

And then tome of battle came out.

Deep impact ---> all-out power attack + diamond blade nightmare...
