Are you sure you didn't mean exposed parts. I sure hope none of them have extraneous parts. ;)

Note the time stamp. :p

I think what I meant was the nudity itself was extraneous. What does it really add to show Jason banging one woman after another in nigh softcore porn style? It's something that really irks me about HBO shows in general. Some of them use a little better than others, but I can't think of a single instance where it actually made the story or the setting better. Sopranos is possibly the only one, but I think that show was generally over-rated as a whole, so I'm less inclined to give it the benefit of the doubt.

I would like to see a little less skin. Not that it bothers me at all, but like many HBO shows it seems to be there simply because it can be. There are ways of being edgy without having extraneous parts.

Life is rated R ( to be generous ). There are few things I hate more then have people roll out of bed after sex wearing PJs or women who hold their blankets around their chest. Who really does that?

The title sequence is way too long. That wouldn't be bad if it were visually interesting, like say Carnivale's opening. Even then, I would think it would need to be pared down. However, the title sequence has boring music, boring imagery... it really shouldn't be that long.

That's definitely a singular response. The first review I read of the series ('True Blood' and the Lost Art of Opening Credits | Newsweek Periscope | Newsweek.com) went on and on about the amazing intro. My wife and her friend are pretty much in love with the title sequence. Personally I put it up there with Dexter which I also think has a great intro.

I don't mean to come off as a prude. I agree, I would argue, for example, if Amy rolled out of bed with clothes on... we know that is non-realistic. But really, do we need scene after scene of Jason and random women in gratuitous sex scenes in every episode? Just like less is sometimes more, more is sometimes less. Some shows use nudity well, and some do not. TB, I feel, does not. Pseudonym mentioned Oz being a case where it's used well... I think I'd agree with him, though it's been a while since I've seen it and my memory may be cloudy. Incidentally, it's the same with violence - something that I think TB does very well.

So I guess to sum up, it's not nudity itself I have a problem with. It's nudity at the expense of story (ie, to draw in viewers or simply be shocking) that I have a problem with.
