Tumble Question

Panask

First Post
I'm a little unsure about how Tumble works when you try to tumble past an enemy (or through the enemy's space) - in particular, exactly waht the "one-half speed" refers to. Is it only for the distance you're tumbling, or does it apply to your entire move?

That is: suppose your base move speed is 30'. Can you tumble 10' (using up 20' of movement), then move normally for another 10'? Can you use move-and-move by tumbling 20' and then moving another 20' normally?

Thanks in advance.

I was always under the impression that tumble is treated the same as moving through rough terrain, ie. each 5' square tumbled costs 10' of your movement. That's how I've always done it.

Exactly. That's how the rules present it, too. As if it were 'rough terrain', and only applies for the squares tumbled through, not the full move action.
