I would not shift the paladin's alignment, nor even take away any of his powers - his decisions were fine, considering what he had to work with.
As a single, unfrealted incident, I wouldn't change the wizard's alignment - but as a series of events and a "habit", I think a change of alignment is in order for the wizard.
