Hey all.

Could use some help/advice. I'm wanting to create a dagger specialist for a new FR campaign starting soon, and i was wondering: if i have the feats TWF and RS, how many daggers can i throw each round? And do i get -4 penalty on all throws or just the main hand (if the total number is 3 [2 main hand at -4, 1 off hand at -2]).

I've never tried this kind of character before and i'm prety excited about him. Im going with Strongheart Halfling for the extra feat at 1st. Thinking Fighter but would like to hear any suggestions about making him better. Oh, and throwing daggers is his intended main attack mode.

Thanks in advance :)

***EDIT: Added what i thought might be the attack roll penalties for 3 attacks.***

I'd say 3, and the -4 penalty sounds right.

As for suggestions, there is the Master Thrower prestige class in Complete Warrior.

TWF reduce the penalties for fighting two handed, you can throw 2 daggers, one with each hand with a -2 penalty, with RS you can make one more attack with -2 to all so you're right it's -4 for the three.
You'll need Quick draw to shoot the second dagger in the first hand.

I never thought it was fair that in 3.xE you need Quick Draw to throw more than 2 daggers per round, yet you don't if you want to shoot more than 1 arrow. :\

Upside: I don't believe you provoke an AoO by tossing daggers in melee, and you definitely still have a threatened area. But, yes, it's still a little weak.

That's the difference between ammo and not-ammo.

You provoke whenever you use a ranged weapon while threatened (sans some special class/PrC ability or feat).

Thanks alot for the input so far. :)

Annother question: Concerning Quick Draw: Can i use it multiple times in a single round? Say i make it to 6th level, i get my 2nd attack and aquire Improved Two Weapon Fighting. Now, including Rapid Shot, that should put me at 5 throws. So the first four are ok, i throw 2, Quick Draw 2 new blades, throw them, but now, since i already used a free action to quick draw, can i draw 2 more and throw 1? (And potentially draw 1 more to replace that one).

Hmm What about a goliath or monkey grip with two reapeting crossbows and 'TWF', rapid shot, manyshot and improved critical XD? Would it work?

I believe you still need two hands to use a repeating crossbow more than once per round.

You can fire a repeating crossbow with one hand or fire a repeating crossbow in each hand in the same manner as you would a normal crossbow of the same size. However, you must fire the weapon with two hands in order to use the reloading lever, and you must use two hands to load a new case of bolts.
