A new parchment appears on the tree, written in a careful hand. The woman murmurs softly under her breath, "I wish I knew more of her... yet this might reach."

To T'zella Murrpau Silverhair

There is a will to live in each of us.
Zoos and cages have no way to hold it.
Each breath longs to be of open air,
Life untamed and unconstrained,
Lived to the fullest and not measured out
As if by some parsimonious miser’s hand
Making change one copper at a time
Until the count is finally complete.
Reach for your pouch and spend what you have,
Revel in it and don’t count the cost.
Poverty in this comes in reverse,
And hoarding life keeps it from being rich
Unlikely though that seems. Look too,
See the richness held in other’s lives,
In every life a wealth that adds to yours,
Life shared becoming more than each alone,
Varied though returns may sometimes be.
Even a copper coin can turn to gold,
Receiving a Midas touch at your hands,
Have you the skill to see the gleam within
And value it, leaving the dross behind.
If you can see that, see these words are true,
Requested by someone who cares for you.
