The time is now. UKon is now officially accepting requests from local GMs who are interested in running an event. UKon is held in Lexington, KY and hosted by the Miskatonic Student Union on February 9th & 10th this year. All submissions should contain the following:
GMs Name (duh!)
Name of event
One sentance blurb for conbook
One paragraph synopsis of your event
System used
Experience necessary/rules taught
Min/max number of players per table
Characters provided/character creation
Number of slots run
Time(s) requested
We are trying to spread the wealth as far as game systems are concerned. Part of going to conventions is to try out new settings and systems you wouldn't otherwise get to play. So far I have submissions for the following:
3.5ed D&D (Living Arcanis/Living Greyhawk[tentative])
Vampire LARP
Paranoia XP
Exalted
Vampire (heavily modified)
BESM
Deadlands
There are also a number of mini events in the works, both demos and tournies, including Hordes/Warmachine and Warhammer 40K.
NERO will be doing demos and recruiting new players. Another local Vampire LARP will be recruiting.
Things we are thinking about:
Movie room
Boardgames and nonstandard games
20th level D&D challenge vs. Gargantuan Black Dragon or Colossal Red Dragon!!!
CCGs
Clix
Things we are looking for:
Vendors
New members/volunteers
Ideas to make UKon great!
This is Year Two of or rebuilding. I'm very excited to be involved and am a firm believer in the fellowship of the tables. The best way to build community is through cross pollenation of gaming groups. We want this to be your con too. Please feel free to post any ideas or questions you might have.
Respectfully,
