Ultimate thief?

How would one make an ultimate thief ala something on the order of carmen sandiago? I'm more concerned about skills and feats which would allow someone to infiltrate, steal, and escape, often unobserved, coupled with the ability to escape sticky situations including traps such as Symbols, versus raw damage. So this is what i figure that she'd need: reasonably good (but not neccessarily spectactular) stats, decent saving throws across the board, and a good array of skills and feats. The character I'm aiming for would be epic level NPC if not higher. As my game is gestalted, with fast and loose gestalting rules (players get to change things up like i'm doing here to, so it's fair), I was probably going to go Elven female, rogue/ swordsage first couple levels focusing on Shadow Hand and setting sun manuvers, then Thief/ Acrobat Prc (song & silence)/swordsage, and then Legacy Champion (weapons of Legacy Prc)/ rogue, with maby a few levels of Child of the Night (Tome of Magic) or if i pick up a few levels of psioncist Shadowmind PrC, or even Spymaster , nightsong infiltrator or nightsong enforcer (last 4 ideas come from the Complete Adventurer). I figure the Legacy item she has would boost her abilities as far as such abilities aforementioned. Ideas/ improvements? Let me know

Personally, I had really good luck with Rogue/Telflammar Shadowlord/Void Incarnate. That was not a Gestalt game, so you could probably mix it up a bit to get it better.

The last is an Epic PrC that has pretty much everything you are looking for, I think. You can find Void Incarnate here.

I ended up with a +62 to Hide checks with that build at 24th level (including magic items).

Thanx for the suggestion :) Where do i find the Telflammar Shadowlord? Whereas that much hide is impressive, I also would need all the other classic rogue manuvers to be able to get in and out (and escape): pick pocket, open lock, climb, escape artist at pretty decent and not to mention saves levels so stuff like poisons, symbols (pain, death etc)

Telflammar Shadowlord is in the Forgotten Realms book, Unapproachable East. I think I had pretty high bonuses in the other skills too - I'd just maxed them out, since they were class skills for Rogue, Shadowlord, and Void Incarnate. You could fill the other half of the gestalt progression with something to give you the other stuff you wanted.

Anyway, it was just a suggestion. :) Might not work for you if you don't have the book, etc.

Player's Guide to Faerun. Unapproachable East . I agree with Goddess FallenAngel, Void Incarnate is awesome!

As for your character, it depends on how much you want the character to specialise, and exactly what Carmen will specialise in (if she does).

Edit: Got it mixed up with the Zhentarim Spy, sorry.

What type of magic items would work well with it? I was kinda wanting an untimate legacy thief item , or would it be better to load her up with a bunch of smaller (not neccessarily in size, but in usefulness of each) , but a whole slew of minor, but vastly useful items?
