Underworld (the movie)

I'm wondering if anyone has done a write up of the vampires and werewolves (Lycans) from this movie. They don't seem to be quite what you'd expect. Like I doubt the vampires are undead because Kate Bekinsales character passes out from blood loss due to a single wound. If anyone has anything to share I'd be grateful.

Sounds a lot like WoD. I've only seen the first movie, and yeah it even looked a lot like WoD. Well, one interpretation of it, anyhow.

Underworld is the greatest trenchcoat+katanae movie I've ever seen. It's all about the style, never mind the substance. It's great.

Didn't White Wolf's lawyers think the same thing? Or was that lawsuit just a rumor?

The lawsuit wasn't a rumor. IIRC they settled out of court.

Of course, the lawsuit was fairly silly as most of what WotC alleged that Underworld borrowed from the WoD, they had borrowed from Anne Rice, who borrowed from Bram Stoker...
