unofficial Dragon #364 errata

I threw this together last night while (very, very) bored. My errata for Dragon 364 so far:

Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Yeenoghu

p14 Crocotta power Haunting Laughter: Should specify psychic damage in text.

p14 Crocotta power Morphic Visage: Formatting error. Uses numbers instead of displayed dice for recharge mechanic.

Playing warforged

p27 Warforged racial traits: These differ significantly from the ones listed on p279 of the Monster Manual, and are significantly more powerful. If these replace the printed racial traits, it should be specified.

Ashen Covenant

p41 Encounter groups: Elder Arantham (Level 23 solo controller). Should read (Level 23 Elite controller)

p44 Skull Helm: There seems to be no point to having a higher level version. Suggestion: Remove the level 23 version.

Wolves of Maldeen.

p49 Straw Soldiers Pack Master Attack 20: This power has no range. Without a range, it should only work for adjacent allies. This does not seem to be the intent. Suggestion: allies within 5 squares.

Creature Incarnations: Kobolds

p53: First paragraph where it says "kobold tactics," there is no such ability. It should read "piker tactics."

p54: Kobold Horde: As a swarm, this should have a damage aura. However, this may have been swapped out for the Overwhelm Surge power.

p54: Kobold War Priest power Surge of Terror should have Psychic keyword.

Class Acts: Wizard (Hoo boy...)

p61 Illusory Ambush Wizard Attack 1: Add the Psychic keyword.

P61 Grasping Shadows Wizard Attack 1: Add the Psychic keyword.

p62 Phantom Chasm Wizard Attack 1:
1) Add the Psychic and Fear keywords (comparable to Long Fall Into Darkness)
2) As written, the effect could easily last longer on a miss than a hit. Suggestion: Change Miss to same duration as hit.

p62 Phantasmal Terrain Wizard Utility 2: As written, 1) without a listed duration its duration is instantaneous, making this power entirely worthless. Suggestion: Sustain Minor.
2) Add Zone keyword.

p62 Phantasmal Assailant Wizard Attack 5: Add Psychic keyword

p62 Spectral Hound Wizard Utility 6: Possibly add Conjuration keyword. This point is debatable.

p62 Enemies Abound Wizard Attack 7: Add psychic keyword.

p62 Illusory Wall Wizard Utility 10: Possibly add Conjuration keyword.

I don't like the fact that this is your suggestions instead of the Official Errata. If you're going to make a post that has your suggestions, put that in the subject heading, please.

Illusory wall is also strange in that as written an enemy can only get attacked (and thus have a chance to reveal the illusion) when he moves adjacent. It should probably only allow one attack per opponents turn and attack if the opponent starts their turn next to the wall.

This isn't an error. It is specified in the MM that the PC treatment of monster races in that section are guidelines only and that MM races are meant as NPCs. Covering them later in an official PC capacity, as in within Dragon or the next PHB, does not require a note saying that it supercedes the optional guidelines from the MM.

Just a suggestion: in the future, could threads like these be labeled as unofficial errata or fan errata, or something? Not to downplay your efforts, but it's a tad misleading as labeled now.

Ppl are still talking about that? The MM specifies very clearly that the traits in there at the end are for building NPCs, not players. It can be used as guidelines for players. Guidelines = not a static reference but only an idea of what it can look like.

The dragon 364 warforged is a prime example of that meaning, and it's as intended.

And yea, 90% of the items in the OP are opinion based and not error based. You think this or that power should have this or that keyword, for example. Without knowing the designer's intent for the powers' inner workings you have no way of knowing if those keywords should or not be there.

They are interesting and sensible suggestions in many places, but suggestions are not errata.

Darn, and I already relabeled it once...I thought the "preliminary" would be pretty clear on that.
