GGREYSTONE MOUNTAINS REGION While the range known as the Greystone Mountain is primarily dwarven, it has seen an influx of new peoples (for good or ill) since the Transformation in 749 N.C. Competition with these newcomers has severely depleted the resources of the Kingdom of the Greystones (or Drukar Naueavor in Dwarven). The mountain range is divided into three political regions with the Kingdom of the Greystones dominating much of the central part of the range and the Greystone South. However, the area along the extreme southwestern part of the range is under the control of the Kingdom of the Silver Leaves. Much of the northeastern part of the range is known as Old Highstone, which was once dominated by high dwarves until the Dwarven City of Highstone was destroyed in 550 N.C. by an evil organization known as The Opposition. This mountainous region also shows the heart of the Dalenmann people in the Lands of Harqual, the Twilight Lands (or Uialndor in the Elven language). These lands sit in a massive valley that has always been home to the Dalenmann, and their Twilight Valley has a thriving, pastoral civilization. A deep freshwater lake called Lake Vesper sits in the lowest part of the valley. While the Dalenmann are considered to be little more than barbarians by the peoples of the Old Sword Lands, the dwarves of the Greystones and the elves of Silverleaf know better. Regardless, outsiders are rarely welcomed into the Twilight Lands unless they are a proven ally/friend of the Dalenmann. The valley is surrounded by a network of hills and low, mountainous heights. To the north of the valley lies the Verge Mountains, which is dominated by goblin orc tribes of Volôrkfar. To the east are the scattered tribes of the Frostshard Heights and the wildly independent dwarven clans of the Rockshard Heights. To the south are the silver ‘wild’ elf clans of the Silver Heights who sometime pay fealty to the High One of the Kingdom of the Silver Leaves. To the west are the twisted outcast barbarian clans of the Broken Hills who are ruled from Mändälar by a half-blooded goblin orc named Baalö Kënnir. Beyond the Verge Mountains and Frostshard Heights are a region of mysterious highlands known as the Lowshards. These mazes of hills and mountainous highlands are always contested by various clans & tribes of peoples, deadly monsters, enigmatic fey creatures, and even rogue dragons. There are numerous places that are so wild that no one truly knows who or what lives there. There are also mysterious places like the Hidden Vale that are magically obscured from those living around them.
