Chainmail rules or just the miniatures? Anyone played chainmail? From what ive seen it looks like a stripped down version of Warhammer Fantasy Battle... Am i wrong?
Both of course But mostly the miniatures, they're some good.
Chainmail is a miniature's wargame based on D&D3E and is fully compatible with it. Whereas Warhammer has a very complex rules-system, Chainmail does not. It could take you weeks to figure out the rules of warhammer, with chainmail you get the basics after a few minutes, and most advanced rules within the first half-hour. Additionally Warhammer is large scale battles often involving hundreds of miniatures that has to be *PAINTED* to be legal to use in the game, whereas chainmail can be played right out of the box, and is more centered on small scale combat, a single battle lasting roughly 30 minutes. also you don't need to paint the chainmail miniatures, but it's fun to do
On an economic note, chainmail is far cheaper than Warhammer to start with.
