Variable/"Pool" Powers Question

Hand of Vecna

First Post
Per the errata of the M&M 2E rules, the “No rank or bonus of the assumed form can be higher than your Shapeshift rank” bit has been removed. Is this errata to be used here?

If so, would it also apply to other Variable-style powers, such as Adaptation, Animal Mimicry, Gadgets (from Ultimate Power), Mimic, Nemesis, Object Mimicry, and so on? (Steve Kenson says it should.)

I ask primarily out of self-interest: I plan on having Dr. Archeville take a rank or three of Gadgets (the hard-to-lose version, representing a wide assortment of widgets and gewgaws he has clipped to his belt and stuffed in his pockets) at some point.

Yes.

We use most recient Erratta unless otherwise stated.
Whoa, didn't know that was in the errata! Guess I didn't need to work so hard on getting Polymorph's rank up after all

HoV, you'll probably have to propose Gadgets, though.

YES

It's an official errata. and a ruling that makes sense. No point in taking 10 ranks of shapeshift just to be able to get claws and strike 10.

[Sblock]I am not sure if this proposal even needed voting on since Bront says it is the rules already.[/sblock]
