Weapon Focus with melee/thrown weapons?

If a character takes weapon focus in a weapon that can be used both in melee and thrown, like a daggar, does the bonus apply to both attacks, or do you have to specify the focus as one or the other?

Ya, weapon focus applies to all attack rolls (melee or ranged) with the weapon the feat applies to.
