What kind of Leader will you make for this party?

My one question would be what's the character background that pulls together being a warlord, a cleric, and shaman all at the same time?

I am planning to make him a former leader or leader's son of a somewhat primitive tribe which considers Sehanine to be, say, "Great Lady of the Moon" and not distinguishing her much from greater Primal Spirits of Nature.

Egads, that party has almost no ranged capabilities outside of the Orb Wizard. Skirmishing Warlord, Bow Bard or the like would help cover that HUGE hole in their abilities.

Avenger and BS Rogue can also handle that to some extent. Avengers aren't noted for ranged capability but they DO have ranged powers. ANY rogue should be competent with ranged weapons. Certainly a warlord with some archery capability would be helpful though. Notice that with a STR of 21 the character above can quite handily utilize one or two MP2 warlord ranged attack powers. Those should work fine with a javelin.

Javelin or the like would be fine (i'd maybe go Trident, just because they're cooler) but then I'd also want the Far Thrower/Shot feat to get better range. Even if you don't take the specific build, the power selection likely is VERY heavily weighted towards the ranged builds.

My suggestion is a cunning bard, specialising to be a loremaster. The ability to shift people around a great deal will work nicely with the melee focused group. Jinx Shot and similar abilities could add a nice touch as has been previously stated.

I would build the bard around buying as many of the lore skills as you can and leaving the social skills alone. Then buy Bardic Lore and Bardic Jack of All Trades. This will mean you have +7 to stat for lore skills since you are trained in them and +4 in all untrained skills. You can really put in for the team in situations where you have no idea what skills will be missing at any point.

Alternatively, the Runepriest is at its best in melee heavy groups and can really excel. This would rely on your group working well together and the strikers having spent effort to get lots of movement powers. Personally I prefer the bard though, as Runepriests just don't have the stats to fill in the skill shortage.

Well, while bow Warlord or Bow Bard are tempting, I prefer to make my leader much versatile and tough.

This is a very casual meeting and not all the members attend all or even most of the game. When all the member came to a session, we have 6 PCs (or more if someone invite a guest or two). But we will play when at least 2-3 players can attend a game. In that case we complement the lacking role by adding a companion character or two. In such a case my Leader cannot hide behind meat walls.
