what songs do monsters sing.

Beat It

We’ve met a monster and it’s ready for a fight
But you’re saying we should parley, and that killing isn’t right
Well we’ve taken a long walk, and we haven’t come to talk
So beat it, just beat it

It’s now come round to your initiative score
No need to be reminded what your weapon’s for
Don’t pretend to be its friend, or you’re sure to meet your end
Just beat it

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it
Just take out your sword and beat it
Don’t ask whether its evil, or whether it’s got kids
Don’t ever try to tell me you’re some kind of pacifist
We worked hard to get surprise, and there’s XP if it dies
So beat it

Just beat it, beat it
You’ve got a +1 sword, so beat it!
There’s no negotiation, we need to pound
The time has come for violence, take it to the ground
You might be the party face
But not fighting’s a disgrace
So beat it!

Ironically, most "sapient monster" races aren't considered monsters in the setting I run. Orcs, ogres, minotaurs, and a variety of other traditionally-evil/marauding races are fully integrated into the local culture. This is because all mortal races suffered together under the capricious (and sometimes tyrannical) genie-rajahs long ago, and according to myth, all of them united under the banner of the First Sultan to drive the genies out of the mortal world and into Jinnistan. And those few sapient monsters that do exist (like ghuls, mindflayers, bouda aka were-hyenas, nasnas, etc.) don't tend to be the type that have a culture as we would think of it.

But I do kinda feel like mindflayers would sing I Can't Decide by the Scissor Sisters.
