D&D 5E Who is Boo?!

Here I am. Thinking I’ve gotten into a serious debate about Boo with Umbran and I must be confused, again.

As one does.

I'm mostly talking about the new characters and writing.

Easy enough to skip if you don't like them - just don't invite the new characters to the party, and don't play the optional expansion they created. (I'm perfectly fine with them, but to each their own). Beamdog's improvements for just the base games outside their new stuff are pretty nice...

Yeah fair enough.

I liked Dorn in Game 1, but of the beamdog content (and I bought it all) that's it really.

I found Dorn the only decent one, and that was in game 1, the expansion I didn't like at all, and game 2, I just didn't feel they fit.

Granted however, I've played it since release, and after 20 years with the same characters and story... I'm not particularly open to forcing other narratives into a completed work.

Cast reduce and mirror image on it, too. Then he becomes "Boo, the many mini minotaur miniature giant space hamsters."

If someone killed Boo and he became a ghost, he'd be Boo! Boo.

I thought they were fine.

The quality is a bit all over the place. The new quests and involved areas also stick out as very distinct from the rest, though I guess that's not completely avoidable.
