WotC Boards

Paradox

First Post
On Monday, June 16th Wizards Message Boards will be switched over to new software that handles the traffic better and has more features than our current software.

Our technician expects the switch to take about 24 hours. When the boards come back online, your registration from the existing boards will already be ported over to the new system, so you will not need to reregister. The old boards will remain as read-only archives for six months.

Important to note is that the PokéGym will not be brought over to the new system, but will remain in its current location and operate as it always has. This will allow better continuity for the Pokémon community during its time of transition to The Pokémon Company.
We have appreciated your patience with the old system and look forward to seeing you in the new forums,

On a similar note, the EN World messageboards will be upgraded to vBulletin 3 sometime within the next few months. The new version of the software isn't available yet, and I'll probably wait a while and let other people find the bugs before upgrading, but it seems to offer some really, really cool features!

Man, I'm such a geek - I'm excited about a new version of the messageboard software.

Quick question there, Morrus...

With this upgrade, whenever it happens, are we going to lose all the threads and such?

Nope - it's just the software being updated; the database will not be affected.

This is the software's site. They have a good community that should answer any questions you have about vb3. :)

I used to admin a very active vb community and I have to emapthize with Morrus about the new software. Whenever a new release came around I got pretty excited. :D

Insert smilie/vB code where cursor is (IE 5+ Only)

That's awesome. I hated the way vBulletin did this before. It's just more intuitive this way.

So, I got bored about halfway through Morrus. I blame my parents. Will we be able to change our Community Supporter titles with the new version? I hate bothering you or PCat, and I would change mine more frequently if I didn't have to.
