It’s a time on earth with exciting news about your favorite role-playing games, which means you lucky dogs are in the middle of another PAIZO NEWS ROUNDUP! Here’s a surprise for you: now that Starfinder is out and in the wild, we’ve managed to find some love for Pathfinder! Hold on to your hats, this one is going to be jam-packed.

We can’t leave Starfinder completely in the dust, however. Thurston Hillman lays out for those interested the ins and outs of the Starfinder Society within the world of Starfinder. The history of the Starfinder Society is based on the scattered records of the Pathfinder Society of Golarion, and like its predecessor, the Starfinder Society makes its business the exploration of the unknown. Unlike the Pathfinders, the Starfinder Society is led by a much more transparent group known as the Forum, led by a First Seeker. This individual drives the focus of the Starfinder Society, and will be instrumental in the upcoming Starfinder Society storylines. As can be expected with the base of operations any prominent starfaring organization, the Lorespire Complex has all the facilities needed to gather and store the treasures and information its members collect.

That all sounds great and all, but it’s in the past (well, technically, the future). Let’s get cracking on some new toys for all us slowpokes still playing Pathfinder!

As much as we all know Pathfinder is ostensibly about playing heroic and well-meaning adventurers saving the day and rescuing kittens, we all know that one player who likes to take a gruff-voice high-collar excessive-belts approach to the game. Heck, who doesn’t like to be a little bad once in a while? Well, you’re in luck, because the good folks at Paizo are winding up a book just for you: the Antihero’s Handbook! Joe Pasini gives us a preview of the archetypes, backgrounds, gear, tactics, and so much more coming soon! For all you tricksters out there, look forward to getting your hand on Desna’s Coin…

Finally, Adam Daigle has some good news for those characters with hearts of a darker shade. The new Book of the Damned has new rules for characters with fiendish boons, and the three primary prestige classes using Fiendish Obedience have been updated for these boons. There’s also new magic items, new spells, rules for infernal contracts, and a stable of exciting new fiends! Sounds like those at-any-cost heroes from a paragraph ago are going to come in handy soon.

Well, that’s it for this edition of the PAIZO NEWS ROUNDUP! New Starfinder lore, and even some Pathfinder goodies (well, baddies, in this case). Stay tuned for more news; who knows, we might still get to have space for Pathfinder next time!
