It is early morning. The cold mountain air is giving you a brisk start to your day. The sun is just appearing over the mountain peaks.

What brought you here? Kavalar Coppernight, a dwarf prospector, led a couple of dozen volunteers in a quest for rich veins of ore. Several months ago, they began underground mining operations, as well as a surface excavation for a small keep. Hearing of this development, the mayor of the nearest town sent two veteran militia members to investigate. They should have returned two days
ago, and the mayor is growing anxious.

Atop a low rise is an excavation site, partially protected by a high wooden fence. Rubble lies strewn about the area. You can hear the movement of small creatures
beyond the fence.

The north and west sides of the site are blocked by impassable piles of rubble. The rubble thins out enough near the fence you can clamber over it. (DC 10 Athletics to enter a square)

"Come on lets get too it." says Maavnod as he heads towards the fence. He'll hop over it with a simple swing that makes it look entirely too easy. The large goliath with patches of red stone on his skin adjusts the large pick on his shoulder a bit after landing. He'll peer down the stairs to see if he can spot anything yet.

"Aye, after you oh strong and brave, lest we fall victim to our eventual grave" Fenwick sings softly to himself, fingering his wand as he waits to see if anything arises in response to the goliaths appearance.

If not, he'll follow Maavnod over the fence, struggling a bit to clear the fence, landing somewhat awkwardly on the other side. He smiles sheepishly before standing up, dusting himself off, and flashy a quick smile.

In order to maintain her dignity Kali summons an illusory hand, which attempts to hold her skirt in such a manner, as to not flash her fellow adventurers...

Mathas walks quickly, climbing atop the rubble easily. The deva whispers a prayer to the sprits of the earth and he stands tall waiting for the moment

If Mathas does not see anybody from his position, passive perception 19 or if minor action is needed Perception +9. He will listen specifically for language(hoping to identify the race of the speakers), he speaks: common, goblin, and draconic. If hostiles are sighted, he will conjure his spirit companion in a square next to one(or more if possible)

Just wanted to let our avenger and warden know of a combo if they didn't already: While flanking the target of the avengers oath, that the warden also has marked, the avenger attacks with overwhelming strike, sliding away from the warden, and then shifting away with a move aciton. AXEXW, where X is open squares. Now the enemy must choose to close with the avenger(taking the penalty for the mark), and then get slid back with warden's grasp or attacking the warden, and setting up the avenger's bonus damage.

Warrick sighed, knowing this wasn't his purpose in life, but merely the first step in a very long walk. The young elf moved over to the rubble and stood there a moment, trying to find a section that was easier to climb. Failing to find a good purchase on the rocks, Warrick listened and looked around, trying to identify the noises.

As you clamber over and approach the fence, you hear high-pitched reptilian voices yelling. You can see a large number of kobold taking defensive position. There is a excavation, with a large deep hole in the middle of the pit.

'Ah,' Warrick mentally thought as he sighed audibly, 'Someone to vent upon . . . those who have likely harmed the dwarves.' The avenger's observations paid off, and he managed to find a foothold on the rubble, moving into it.

Glancing down at the creature just below him, Warrick calmed intoned, "You! You are the reason we have been sent here, leave this life so that we may be done here." With a two handed swing of his greatsword, Warrick carried out justice.

Mathas, atop the rubble sees the reptilians in their operation. Surely this is why the others weren't heard from. The deva calls out to the spirits of the land around him and an translucent ebony panther spirit comes to his aid. It lashes out with it's claws at the nearest kobold. It catches the kobold across the face, and the creature falls motionless to the ground.

Actions

Minor: Summon spirit companion in L9.
Standard: Use Stalker's strike vs M4. Hit minion, dead. Roll Lookup
Move: Trade in for minor action: Drop prone(defenses +2 vs non adjacient ranged attacks)
Immediate Action(enemy moves away from Spirit companion w/o shifting), +4 vs ref, 1d10+4 dam.

"Hngh." Maavnod grunts loudly as he brings down his heavy war pick through the kobold minion in front of him. Striding over it's corpse he moves menacingly towards the two closest to him. "Bring it!" he shouts at them.

The kobolds at the bottom of the stairs throw their javelins at Warrick. One finds purchase but the wound is superficial.
The kobold near the spirit misses it and runs away.

The slingers fire their projectiles, leaving Mathas burning and Maavnood stuck to the floor.

Satisfied with the foe felled, Warrick stepped from his rubble perch onto the ground behind the fence and in front of another creature that refused to run away. The avenger tsked aloud to the creature, the smile broadened on his face. "Well struck, Maavnod, well struck," Warrick offered. Glancing over the latest creature he struck down, Warrick added, "The way down the stairs is clear."

Unable to see the action over the fence that's over 3 feet taller than him, Fenwick, but hearing his allies cries of pain, the gnome rushes around the east corner and heads along the wall. The bard stays behind Kali for protection while he sings a song of healing, knitting the wounds closed of Mathas.

Fenwick points his wand at the kobold slinger and shouts "You couldn't hit the broadside of a barn you overgrown lizard"

Maavnod shakes off the effect of the kobold's gluey projectile and stabs down at the little runt below him. Missing, his lithoderms flare with a molten anger, hardening against blows. He strides over the kobold Warrick killed and stands above the slingers on the stairs. "The earth will feed on your blood today!" and as if in responce the earth around the mighty goliath rumbles and sharp spears of rock errupt. The one kobold minion is slaughtered and the two slingers are bloodied (and marked). The ground remains difficult for the kobolds to move over, but Maavnod's allies find it does not affect them.

Actions/Stats
Start of Turn: provided immobilized is a save vs. save vs. immobilized (1d20=18) if not then ignore my move action below.
Standard: thorn strike vs. M2 w/ AC15 (1d20+7=10, 1d12+7=11) = miss
Minor: Stone's Endurance = resist 5 all.
Move to G11 = all OAs can hit, he'd resist them all
Action Point: Hungry Earth on M1 (F11), S1 (F12), S3 (F12) (1d20+7=22, 1d12+7=17, 1d20+7=18, 1d12+7=16, 1d20+7=18, 1d12+7=15) = hit (dead), hit (8/24 remaining, bloodied), hit (9/24 remaining, bloodied)

Mathas feels the inspiration of Fenwick's song and he rolls forward, under the belly of his panther spirit. He then stands, rolling off the rubble and successfully quenching the fire, to stand on the edge of the pit. He calls out to his spirit, which sheds a shadowy twin. The twin panthers tear into the slinger, sending it to the ground bleeding. One of the panthers disappears like smoke blowing away.

Actions

--Fenwick's majestic word slides me to L9.
--Move action: Stand, since I am in the same space as my spirit, I can shift one square as part of standing up. So now I am in K9. As part of the move action my spirit companion can move as well. The companion moves to G10, provoking OA from S2 and S3. Since they can't do more than 10 damage, it doesn't matter.
--Standard: Use Twin Panthers. +8 vs reflex against S3(including bonus because it's bloodied.) 26 and 26 to hit. 7 damage and 5 damage. S3 dead. Until the end of my next turn, myself and allies gain CA against foes adjacient to my spirit companion. Roll Lookup
--Immediate action(a foe moves away from my companion w/o shifting) +4 vs reflex. 1d10+4 damage. Note that the terrain around Maavnod is difficult terrain, so enemies can not shift into it(probably doesn't matter).

Spirit Companion benefits

--Allies gain +4 damage against bloodied foes adjacient to my spirit companion.

Skipping along to the rubble Kali shimmies up onto the pile and stands to see her foes. Thinking that the shaft could only lead to more enemies Kali lays a trap over it to slow down the potential threat. In the process she misses the foes directly in front of her face. Cower Before Kali Oun's Mighty Tentacles of Torture!

Kali then notices the other threats directly in front of her, and redirects her attention to the problems at hand. Casting a minor light cantrip on the closest kobolds weapon to keep it in sight, and see into the shaft behind him.

I did this all last night, then either enworld crashed or my internet connection did. either way this was all supposed to happen before Mathas moved... It's ok that Mathas got his turn in before Kali, worked out nicely that way.

Move to M8 Success.

Standard Grasping Shadows area burst 1 centered on H9 miss, shadows writhe in the area TENT, any creature that enters the shadows takes 5 psychic damage and is slowed 'til the end of it's next turn.

Minor cast Light on S2's weapon (I want to light up the shaft, if Kali can cast light directly into the shaft she will.)

1d20+5=18 M3 moves up, Hits Mathas for 4 shifts away.
1d20+5=7 M7 tries to do the same but misses
1d20+6=12, 1d6+3=8 S1 shifts back fires at Maavnood and misses. It then moves to the pit and starts clambering down.1d20-1=6
1d20+6=11, 1d6+3=5 XS2 fires at Maavnood and misses. shift back

The kobolds strik a few of you but try not to stay to close. The Slingers attacks all miss, and the try to retreat, one down the shaft, the other to the back wall of the pit.
