Hanging in there. Better than the alternative.
Anton looks back and tips his hat, to motion the others to come. He lets a few go in before him and then enters. "I am Anton, but could you give us a little more information first? What is the nature of these goods you need to be acquired? It is not common to have goods laying around the countryside."

OOC:
[sblock]Good to know. About the site, not about the snake. :uhoh: To continue, I think it'd be prudent to wait until more people are online, which means a break for tonight.

Besides, I've delayed studying for my test enough.[/sblock]

Following the footstep of Bartholemu, there is Opale. When Fimble knock at the door, Opale exclamate "Nice mansion. Generally, people living in these kind of house are too near there money for me... let's see what he has to suggest."

She follows the group as they enter the mansion.

"My name is Opale di Senzio, and I am arcanist, and not really interested in this job presently. Maybe if you are convincing, I may change idea, but I think at the number of arcanist around the table, you'll have all your need in magic.

And to carry something of value, it all depend. As you posted an announcement, I suppose that the rogues of the city have heard about it, so let's guess they already knows and plan to take what is yours. In that case, I suggest:

Two carriages to carry, your valuable put in a box. Another identicale box. You need the two wagons take different road, and make it one to be known, the false box. A lure for the rogues. The other group will travel incognito, I suggest to have some wheat or something, to pass the caravan as a simple farmer caravan, which mean there is a need to have commoner clothing for the second group. The lure should be some guards, and a few adventurers that looks good, just to make them think you have employ some adventurers to reinforce the rank of your men.

The skills mean a group that can act as guards, true gards are better, but anyone with a basic martial skill could play as a guard, and they should were the same uniform. The other group should have to play some paysan, which mean if an adventurer rely more on an heavy armor and a great sword to defend himself, he should better be on the first wagon.

So that would be the basic of a plan, but I still miss some information to make it more convincing. I think Anton has the same question in head. What the valuable, if you can tell us that information? Where the valuable must be taken and will have to go? Which are the routes betwen those two points? Have you heard any rumers of an attack on your valuable? Maybe with those information, my suggestion of plan will have no value..."

I am certainly interested in hearing more about the job, but I see no harm in relating my abilities. I have access to some offensive spells, as well as a spell which would increase the size of one of my companions, making them more effective in combat and allowing them to carry a large object for a bit, though it would not help for overland travel. I believe I can aquire a spell which is expressly designed to carry heavy loads, it would last for an hour and be able to carry a hundred pounds at a good pace. Once again not suitable for overland travel, but it would allow me to manuver unweildy items away from danger. There are many spells that I could aquire that could be effective, but I need to know more specifics of the job to determine if they would help or not.

"I apologize that I can not be more specific about the goods for the very reason you mention, human girl." The Dwarf says as he scribbles notes on the parchment.

The man in the corner steps forward just a little, to draw attention before he speaks. "Most of you should know that the family whose house you are standing in specializes in transporting goods by sea. These goods are to be transported overland, something that we have not had much experience with. We simply need mercenaries to escort the goods. We pay well, ask around the docks if you doubt that."

Just as the large man finishes speaking, a man of smaller stature turns the corner and leans against one side of the archway. He has medium length medium brown, wavy hair that frames a long, sharp face depicted by light brown eyes. He is dressed in dark brown pants with no pockets that are rolled at the ends to show simple but shiny black boots with silver buckles. He has a loose fitting, white button up shirt with ruffled arms and collar underneath a thin, leather vest. He has a rapier fitted to his belt. He speaks, "And if you want any more specifics than that before we hire you, then you are not the type we are looking for."

Bartholemu, who had been standing in the doorway, backs away and disappears into the dark street when the man shows himself in the archway. The man pushes away from the wall as he squints his eyes, trying to get a good look at Lynx before he backs out of the light. Failing to do so, he reassumes his lean against the wall, but remains somewhat stiff.

Anton Brandovold, Human Ranger

"Well," Anton leans back, "It is difficult for to tell you, then, what equipments we will need for this... outing. You may simply call me Anton. I have no profession because I travel with my mule and bow. I request a horse, but I cannot know what else because I do not know what this is entailing. And maybe some rope. The company of one who is good with the magicks and one who is good with a sword would prove useful, but regardless I will help you."

OOC:
[sblock]Who's the human girl he's referring to? I'm not entirely sure of the makeup of the people here now. Could we keep our names, races, and classes in the titles or something?[/sblock]

Fimble looks a bit flustered as people keep appearing and disappearing from and into the darkness. Finally he gets a chance to toss a word in: "Well! I believe my illusionist skills could be of use here, and I'm not bad with a crossbow, if I do say so myself." He winks at Raena. "And I take it that we're going to be escorting this... eh... thing... one way? And we'll be provided transportation back and such? And as for supplies, the posted notice said something about funding supplies... would this include additions to our grimoires? There are several spells I can think of off the top of my head that would help us, but I'm afraid that while I'm always seeking more arcane knowledge... I eh, don't exactly have the funds right now." He shakes his almost empty money pouch.

OOC to Dexerion:
[SBLOCK] Sure, I'll e-mail you. Only actually, I'd need you to e-mail me, because you have your forum option set to "Don't allow users to e-mail me" or some such thing. For general info, just read Fimble's BG, it's in my sig. The war mentioned happened between Medibaria and Hendralia about 200 years ago, Fimble himself wasn't involved. He was born and raised in Fallon by his father, now he has traveled to Orussus in search of experience. I tried to make it sorta... general, so... if something is a major problem, it can easily be fixed, I'm sure. Btw, my e-mail:

Lynneth Starreaver, Human Wizard

A short, cloaked figure approaches the Armgill Manor with some trepedition. "Hmm. I hope I'm not too late." She pets the weasel sitting quietly on her shoulder, and knocks loudly -- shave-and-a-haircut. "Hello?"

Raena Celeste Everglade, Halfling Rogue

After Fimble receives his answers, Raena introduces herself to the three hirers. "I'm a bit of a street rat myself, I know how to pick locks and pockets. And I can help with disguises, too. I've got a specialty or two up my short little sleeve." She looks at the group so far. "Though I must admit, I'm a bit worried about our... lack of fire power. How many here are a real asset in a fight? I count maybe one?"

The man in the archway responds non-scelauntly to Fimble's questions. "Yes, the goods will be escorted one way. From Tharol to here," he sighs, "you can expect to be paid along the way to the Tharol as well as when the package is returned to this house. As for supplies, no, we don't provide spells. We provided that which is necessary to the job. Which in this case, is transportation, rations, tents, bedrolls, flint and steel, some cooking pans, arrows and bolts, rope, shovels and hand axes, and perhaps a mount or two but that I can not guarantee."

Following Raena's assessment, the nimble human says, "That, little one, may present a bit of a problem. I like the way this one thinks. Put a check by her name, James," as he scratches his head observing the prospective swordless swords for hire.

"I actually think you will find these archanist quite useful when you reach the city of Fallon, Charles." The dwarf remarks as he keeps his focus on his writing.

"They'll break in half if we get in a fight. I am sure of it." The red hair man offers.

"That may be true." Charles agrees.

Lynneth: Before you reach the door you notice a small statured human with pale skin and medium length black hair leaving the manor somewhat briskly. He passes you on the street heading the opposite direction. He seems obviously distracted. When you reach the door, you find it ajar with several people standing just inside.

Lynneth: you can read the first post for a description of the house and about half way down is a room description.

All: I am going to try to recruit some RL friends to join in the next day or so. Expect to be leaving to city by late Friday or early Saturday.

also, how the hell do you spell non-shceauntly?
