I saw this in the Previews catalog. It's a bizarre idea, but one that hasn't been done before, that I can think of.
To me, it seems like the interior artwork samples don't quite fit the setting. I like Dan Smith's work (he signs his stuff "Smif"), but to me, it looks too cyberpunkish. I was expecting more stuff that looked like the cover for T-Rex's "Electric Warrior" (yeah, I know it's a photo, but bear with me):

Overall, I think the premise is goofy enough to make a fun one-or-two shot. I don't know about a whole campaign. Heck, it could be good inspiration for a d20/3e side adventure.
