[Tavern Thread] The Dunn Wright Inn

ScorpiusRisk

First Post
A tall, slight man enters the tavern. He looks about quickly, not looking surprised or panicked, but its easy to see he's never een here before. His skin is fair and his face reveals some fey heritage, making him appear handsome but almost feminine in some ways. Straight brown hair is tied back, just past his shoulders.

His traveling clothes are simple, but are either very well cared for, or brand new. A singet ring on one hand marks his only jewelry. The only weapons you see are a dagger tucked his belt, and a light crossbow on his hip.

He heads to the bar to order a drink.

The half-orc at the bar nods politely as the effete half-elf steps up to the bar. "Well met, stranger," he offers politely in a deep, gravelly voice.

Denizel looks up at the bartender with a friendly smile on his face. "Ale please. I hear this is a good place to find off jobs that need doing. That right sir?"

A short man, wearing plain clothes, but more like a traveler than just a commoner or farmer, approaches the table with Krad and Therella. He wears a brimmed hat and friendly smile, almost too friendly.

He introduces himself within hearing of Denizel and Iago, "Hullo, milady and gent. My name's Jangles. Anyone interested in a game of chance."

He shakes the ivory dice in his hand and rolls the five cubes out onto the table, bouncing and clattering.

OOC: There are 2 Half-orc's at the bar. You all should probably be more precise in your posts to ensure your character's name is always given in the text and indicate who you are taking to to keep things from getting confusing. ;)

Grog spits in the iron bound wooden mug he is cleaning off and wipes away the last of the smudges he is getting rid of. The dwarf that used it last wasn't the cleanest sort, leaving partially chewed crumbs dried on it.

He answers the question, his voice gruff and gravelly, "Reckon so. Ya lookin'? We need a gud chimanee sweep an' ya luk just skinny enuff to gets up der."

He fills up the mug with some of the house special and sets it in front of the half-elf, "Ork piss. Foa coppa." Grog is holding up all five fingers.

OOC: Oops, sorry about the confusion. Iago is standing by the bar drinking.

The other half-orc at the bar seems darkly amused at the bartender's comments. "Don't let him charm you," Iago advises. "He knows how to sell his wares.".

Grog grins and turns to Iago, "Har! I gots da thang fur ya."

He pulls out a heavy earthenware gallon jug from under the bar's counter top. The printed "XXX" is scratched out and crude writing that spells out "Gud stuf" is scrawled above.

"Dis be Kobold Brew. Put har on ya chest." The bartender's look is challenging.

OOC: Iago, Grog and Jangles. Got it.

Denizel doesn't hesitate to show his disgust at the idea of sweeping chimney's or the bartenders colorful words. He none the less puts his five copper on the bar.

"Not my specialty sir, but thank you." He says giving the drink a sniff. "If you need someone to talk to the sweepers guild on your behalf, get some prices lowered, that's more my style."

Denizel gives a friendly smile to Iago and a nod of the head, showing appreciation for the translation. He promptly ignores the gambling man for now.

Grog slams a meaty palm down on the counter top in good cheer, "Dat's da spirit, ya pika! Drink et all dun." The drink has the viscosity of motor oil and is a bit salty and very strong. It is reddish brown in color with no foamy head at all.

Looking at the half-elf, she smirks, "Dose fooks be naw problem ta talk wit foa me. Just dowanna go fetch da b'tards. Ya luk like ya need har on ya chest too." The bartender pours a second mug of the Kobold Brew.

OOC: Fort Save? You betcha. :p
