Alarion of Tovarre

"Pardon me, sir. Formal introductions must wait." He turns to a guardsman. "Send someone to the other gates! We must know if Master Chorus has been seen to leave this castle!"

At Alarion's instruction, a guard is dispatched to carry word to the other gates. A moment later, before he has even reached another gate, the guard turns back toward Alarion shouting, "Is that the man you seek?" Looking where indicated, Alarion and Zane see a horse hurriedly leaving the stable with a rider who looks from here like he could be Yeosham Chorus. He is about 150 feet from you and rising quickly towards a gate in another wall of the compound that is behind some intervening buildings from your vantage. You have a few seconds to act before he is out of sight.

He grabs his bow and an arrow and aims at the fleeing figure.

"Is that someone who needs to be stopped?" He asks.

The bow string is as taunt as it can get, his aim tracking the fleeing man just slightly ahead of his movement.

After Alarion takes off, Tau moves to follow but can't keep up with him. He bumps into a servant and has to help her pick up the basket of apples that he accidentally knocked into the floor. Once he makes it outside he takes in the scene. Alarion is talking to someone at the gate, a guard begins to run off and then points at something. The other man at the gate pulls out his bow and points it in the same direction the guard indicated.

Following both of their sight lines to the object of their attention, Tau sees a man fleeing on a horse. Assuming this is Yeosham Chorus, whom they are after, Tau begins casting a spell directly in his path. The plants in the area begin to grow up and try to get a hold of the man and his horse.

OOC: Tau cases Entangle to trap the suspect. DC 16 Reflex save for horse and rider or they are entangled. On successful save, they can only move half speed and need to make saves every round.

OOC: There is, in general, insufficient plant life to support an entangle spell cast upon a moving beast the size of a horse in the well-manicured grounds of Red Rock, Sir Upjohn's manor, however......

As luck would have it, at this particular moment, two of Sir Upjohn's gardeners are moving a quite large rosebush to a new bed near a reflecting pond and frog honeymoon hotspot, and Yeosham Chorus is riding right by them.

ST vs. Kerlan's Entangle (1d20+6=10) [sorry, TAU's Entangle  ] [I could re-roll the save with the correct name if you like? :D ]

The rosebush rises up and flings its branches at and around the horse's feet. The poor horse whinnies in surprise and pain as the thorns find purchase in its tender flanks, and it rears up, depositing our hapless Yeosham Chorus directly and forcefully on his backside so hard that it jars his teeth painfully. The horse is secured by the thorny rosebush, and the gardeners are, well, shocked to say the least.
