I was 20 and in college. It was good and bad.
The good:
I am able to probably relate better with him. I also started his D&D "career" early, so he's been playing 20 years now.
I was done paying child support by 40. My current SO and I have three kids between us, but all are in their mid-to-upper 20s and we're still plenty young to go out and do things.
The bad:
Financially, it was hell. I was working my way through college and had to take a couple of semesters off to have enough money to continue/get through. It was also a complication in my social life as many of the women my age didn't deal with someone having a child very well.
