Theia's foul spittle splashes at the skeleton's feet, firmly gluing it in place. Rak'tan's great blade swings in a mighty arc, slashing the arm off of the unfortunate skeleton. Rak'tan emits a cry of triumph; however, it is short lived. Vines creep from the skeleton's hollow frame and seek out the severed limb. Upon finding the arm they retract quickly and wrap around it, binding it back into place. Zinnelis has much the same luck. His arrow strikes true, hitting the creature in one of its empty eye sockets. Yet again, vines snake out; this time grabbing and snapping the arrow shaft like a twig. Leira seems to have the best luck. Her vicious roundhouse connects with skeleton's rib cage which emits an audible crunch. Small fragments of mossy bone fall from the wound. Aelspeth creeps around inside the decrepit, dusty shed. Seemingly unsure of what she is looking for, she stumbles across an old ledger. As weathered as the shed, some scraps are still decipherable.

Seemingly in dire straights, the skeleton plunges its arms into the soil at its feet. The vines covering it seem to come alive, and begin to rapidly snake into the soil. Soon soil throughout the garden begins to erupt with tiny vines, which begin to entwine around our intrepid adventurers!

Theia Merryweather, Nihilist

Theia watches the creature somehow regenerate, but also how Leira's kick send bone fragments flying. Breaking her focus, the grass and weeds begin to grow around her own feet and legs! She looks down, then back up, and simply smiles at the undead.

Having landed a satisfyingly strong kick, Leira smiles, even as she lashes out with her whip blade as the skeleton chants something, the blade seemingly unharming the creature. Annoyed she snaps out with another kick, but trying to dodge the entangling plants gets her out of a good position and her kick goes wide.

Calathil Manor
Late Afternoon

As Zinnelis drew another arrow, he saw the skeleton plunge his hands into the soil. Vines sprouted, twisting up from the ground around him. He managed to dodge out of the way and avoid getting entangled, but he knew he couldn’t stay here, so he headed for the edge of the affected area.

As he moved, Zinn drew back his bow, sending another arrow at the skeletal gardener. This time the arrow flew wide of his mark, embedding in the wood of the shed.

Aelspeth hears the solid *thunk* of Zinnelis's arrow burying itself in the shed wall. Her internal monologue continues, Hmm, perhaps I could be of some use out there. She steps out and sees the gardener's skeleton retracting its arms from the earth. Before it, vines have wound their way around Theia's and Rak'Tan's legs, holding them in place with a creaking sound as their captives resist their grasp.

The wizard quickly catalogs her prepared spells and determines that sometimes the old-fashioned way is equally effective. She moves into position behind the skeleton and lifts her staff in both hands to swing sidelong at its skull. The cracking sound she expected is muted as the weapon connects with a patch of moss at the skull base. Aelspeth's aim was true, yet the soft patch of growth softens the blow.

The skeletal gardener's hollow eyes stare lifelessly back at Theia's smile as the vines holding it together writhe like a tangle of snakes. Rak'tan's blade again strikes the skeleton, delivering a fearsome blow; however, vines snake out of its body and quickly wrap around the damaged structure, further reinforcing it. Aelspeth's blow to the creature's skull seems to draw its attention. The rusty shovel falls from its grasp, seemingly forgotten. Suddenly, one of its arms twists around in an unnatural position and splits into two tangles of vine and bone that slash at her. One of the tangles goes wide, smashing into the door of the shed and reducing it to splinters. The other claw has far more success, smashing into the young wizard with surprising force. She can feel the shards of bone tearing at her as the vine is retracted.

"Damn, Aelspeth are you ok? Try and stay behind me." Easily moving her way through the entangling foilage, Leira forcefully strikes at the skeleton. Dropping back into a low combat stance, she keeps her blade ready for any opening the skeleton might leave.

Aelspeth Noromiel, Novice Conjurer

Aelspeth screeches in agony when razorblades of bone and thorn shred through her tunic and breast. She staggers back half a step and more vines attempt to wrap around her legs. Vision momentarily full of black spots, the elf barely manages to dance around the grasping greenery! Darwin senses his mistress' distress and shifts uncomfortably in his sash.

Wait! Aelspeth thinks. Sash...satchel...acid flask!

The novice wizard plunges a hand into her trusty haversack and a glass flask leaps into her palm. She holds it across her chest in a protective gesture while her other hand forms the sign of corrosion over her throat. With a look of abject relief, she shudders, savoring the orgasmic waves of magic rushing through her. "Uvelucal valignat wiot!" she hisses, then expectorates a massive, sizzling glob of green into the vines that seem to have animated the skeleton.
