Ripnek lets Saashala slither past him and waits for her to look around the hill. He takes the opportunity to observe the yuan-ti, looking for weaknesses to be exploited later; defensive gaps, easily reached vital spots.

"Tell Ripnek what you see," the bugbear whispers quietly in her ear, closer than is comfortable. "Ripnek wants to kill something."

OOC: Which squares are Nert and Moon Moon heading for? Or at least, if you're both advancing until you can see the creatures around the fire, do you want to be next to each other or separate?

And if they're each advancing, are they crossing the small protrusion that Drutha found or going around it?

OOC: Nert will continue until he sees something, but won't get in front of Drutha. He'll go round the protrusion to his right, (so west)

Round 1

Drutha crawled forward as quietly as she could, cursing the misfitted armor she had been given as it clanked noisily. She stopped when she came to a small protrusion in the smooth, snow-covered grass of the hill. It was like a wall protruding out of the grassy mound. Carefully she felt around it with her hand and poked a bit at the snow-covered grass in front of the low lip of the wall with the haft of her glaive to try and determine if it was safe, what the nature of this strange protrusion was. She motioned to the quieter members of the party to sneak forward and see who was at the fire. If trouble happened, she wouldn’t need to worry about sneaking up.

As Karok approaches the horses, one of them sniffs the air and then whinnies noisily. Another looks up and glares at him. It's pretty clear that he can't get any closer without a significant disturbance, but he's close enough that a quick swipe would probably serve to free some of their stakes if he chooses to.

The only response to the horse is a voice yelling (in Common) from the vicinity of the campfire, "Shut up, you worthless nag!"

Meanwhile Saashala peeks carefully over the lip of the hill, and sees six forms around the fire. B1, B2, and B3 are clearly human, and the dancing fire lights up their faces. They are unshaven, dressed in mismatched armor and an odd selection of dark clothes, and don't look especially friendly. B4, B5, and B6 are not very clear; she can only see their outlines and the rest is lost in shadow against the surrounding firelight. But the outlines are consistent with the rest. She sees B3 look back over his shoulder to curse the noisy horse.

As best as she can tell, they're either talking or playing some kind of gambling game. There's a lot of harsh voices and gesturing.

Nert peers down from above, and his observations match Saashala's, though he has the better view of B3, B4, and B6. As well, he can see the fire reflecting off a variety of blades, smaller worn on the figures and larger on the ground close at hand.

OOC: Drutha, Moon Moon, and Karok would have to advance significantly in order to see the figures. Ripnek can either climb/leap up to C12 (costing an extra 5' for difficult terrain) or just lean toward Saashala to get a clear look. Nert and Saashala already have LOS and haven't yet been noticed.

Round 2

Drutha looked to Nert in the dark. It was hard to communicate. He wouldn’t know legion hand signs. She pointed two fingers to her eyes and then pointed in the direction of the fire, giving him a questioning look.

Carefully Drutha tried to slide quietly forward to the lip of the mound, pulling out her heavy crossbow as she clattered along the snowy mound.
