I backed the Tome of Beasts on Kickstarter and got the 2D miniature back, so this was a no-brainer when it came out. I've run at least half of the adventures in this book and enjoyed them all.

Note that you need the Tome of Beasts. This book doesn't contain the stat blocks for the monsters and the whole point of the book is to highlight monsters in the ToB, you'll not find them in the WotC Monster Manual.

But if you do have the ToB and the cardboard miniature set, you'll have everything you need to run these adventures. I HIGHLY recommend the map pack. The PDF maps print out at scale without any manipulation on your part needed. I wish more publishers were as thoughtful.

With the ToB and cardboard miniatures, the Book of Lairs and its map pack give you a nice selection of adventure locations for both high and low levels that you can quickly put together as one-shots with very little preparation needed.
