Dragon 34 - 2 = 32 - I like dragons, but i dislike them as a D&D monster because they are always badly used in actual play. By lore and stats Dragons, even young dragons, are smarter than the average human, some are smarter than high level wizards. They are supposed to be cunning, wise, and powerful. Yet 90+% of the time in games, the DM uses NO tactics, the Dragon will never talk things out, bargin, or bribe/be bribed. Even when battle starts to go badly and they are clearly losing them won't even try to surrender. Apparently all dragons are Death Berserkers? Basically we've lowered what should be the closest thing to a living god in all settings to a very large goblin with lots of hit points and fire breath. Go go dragons.

I agree completely, but this is a problem with lazy Dungeon Masters--not a problem with dragons. (If "Lazy DM" was on this list, it would have been voted off in 0.003 seconds and the ENWorld server would have caught fire from the sudden and intense amount of downvoting.)

You aren't the only one who is B.A.D.D. (Bothered About Disposable Dragons.) You should join the club. (I think it's still active; it got awfully quiet over there during the 3E/4E edition wars...)
